All on tour will enter Envision Festival 2023 one day early, and with new friends and tribe by their sides; carry the positive vibes into the festival grounds and beyond.

DAY 1 - FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH, 2023
Arrival Day: Open schedule to allow everyone on tour ample time to arrive safely to start hotel, located in the artistic neighborhood of Barrio Amon in the Capital City of San José. Your guides will already be at the hotel, likely enjoying a local artisan beer from one of Costa Rica’s many micro-breweries.
Check into you rooms by name and feel free to explore San José City. At 5:30pm there will be an organized Meet & Greet in the hotel lounge where everyone can get familiar over drinks and appetizers. Guides will get everyone updated with all the juicy trip details and what to expect during this adventure!
Group dinner across the street at local favorite restaurant, Cafe del Mundo, and the remainder of night is free to explore local culture and night life; much of which is located within walking distance from hotel.
DAY 2 - SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH, 2023
Early breakfast at hotel before departing the big city for an epic day of river rafting down Rio Pacuare, considered by National Geographic to be one of the top 10 most picturesque in the world!
Splashing and laughing through class 3-5 rapids… our water journey will carry us nearly 4 hours South-East to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica where we then rejoin our bus at main rafting office, before continuing on our way to the Caribbean beach town of Puerto Viejo de Limon.
Arrive in the evening to our hotel, check into rooms with time to enjoy mellow Caribbean culture. Dinner will be organized at hotel followed by pool party after dinner. Choose from any number of funky local “discotecas" to enjoy local night life.
DAY 3 - SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19TH, 2023
Wake up to the sound of Howler Monkeys and epic ocean views as we start day three. Traditional Costa Rican breakfast served at hotel with free morning to enjoy local beaches only a few blocks from hotel. Just before 10am we will gather as a group to experience The Jaguar Rescue Center, a famous rehabilitation center for wild animals in the region. It’s a great organization that makes a profoundly positive impact, and we love to get up close and personal with monkeys, sloths, wild cats, and many other local animal favorites!Second half of day spent chilling at Punta Uva Beach, one of our local favorite coast lines perfect for our wild and zany groups! Return to hotel for showers and a pre-party before heading out as a group for a special dinner at Stashu’s Fusion Caribbean Cuisine.Remainder of night open to explore Puerto Viejo´s night life.
DAY 4 - MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20TH, 2023
Early breakfast at hotel followed by a short drive down Caribbean Coast to the quaint beach town of Cahuita, hot-spot for Calypso music and Nature Preserves! Local Nature Guides will spend the next 3-4 hours unveiling the magic of Cahuita National Park Reserve as we zig-zag in and out of dense primary and secondary rainforest and then back onto beaches making it a hike to remember!
The National Park is a combination of beautiful beaches, coral reefs and tropical rainforest where we will easily observe some of the many species of monkeys, sloths, frogs, butterflies and more.
Return to Puerto Viejo by mid-day and enjoy group lunch at local eateries called “Sodas”. Remainder of day left open to allow group to explore and soak up local culture.
Note: Dinner not included this night to allow group to split up.
Arrive to Punta Mona in-time for lunch, local fruits, and a much deserved swim. Check into cabins followed by an orientation tour so as to get aquatinted with the eco-formula that makes Punta Mona such a special place. Group dinner at the sound of the conch and remainder of night free to relish in the magic of this jungle biosphere.
DAY 5 - TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST, 2023
Depart hotel after breakfast for a thrilling day of fun in nature as we link up with local professionals, Terra Adventures for Zip-Lining through jungle canopy! Local guides are really fun and love to share their passion for nature and Costa Rica. A truly unique opportunity to fly through jungle tree-tops, some running as long as 285 meters or nearly 1000 feet!After morning adrenaline rush, return to hotel as a group and enjoy some down time before the days next enriching activity; Cacao-Chocolate Tour with our friends at Caribbeans! Learn how this sacred fruit is cultivated organically and sustainably with local guides as we hike through the farm. Tasting the chocolate with amazing ocean views, as well as having hands-on time to work with the chocolate, all make this tour a unique travel experience.Group Dinner in town for last night in Puerto Viejo!
DAY 6 - WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22ND, 2023
Breakfast at hotel with first half of day FREE to relax and explore…Hang pool side at hotel, catch some beach time or explore local shops and eateries.Depart hotel at Noon in private bus to San José. At this point on our journey we begin to make our way to Costa Rica’s Pacific Beaches, but not before enjoying one more night in the Central Valley. Check into rooms in the evening with organized group dinner at hotel at night.Note: Good day to get laundry done in the town of Puerto Viejo before departing or at hotel upon arrival ;) Also note that we are staying at the same hotel in San José as day 1…so for those on tour with “extra” festival luggage, it can be safely stored at hotel and then picked up on day 6.
DAY 7 - THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23RD, 2023
Today we say "Adios” to the capital city, and continue our journey to The Pacific Beach-Town of Manuel Antonio, but not before making a key stop en-route to the popping little beach town of Jaco. Super fun little surf town where group will have several hours to explore, hang at the beaches, and enjoy group lunch at local “Soda”.Arrive to Manuel Antonio by evening and check into rooms at hotel. Group dinner at delicious restaurant set atop coastal cliffs and famous for breathtaking sunsets! Remainder of night open to meet and greet with countless others making their way to Envision Festival 2023!
DAY 8 - FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH, 2023
Breakfast at hotel with a relaxing morning to hang pool side at hotel, catch a quick ride to beaches down the road or explore local shops and eateries.Mid-Day, gather as a group for Sunset Ocean Catamaran Boating Excursion that offers snorkeling, dolphin watching and open bar with lunch onboard. Cruise into the open sea, looking for spotted dolphins, migrating humpback whales, sea turtles and manta rays. Boat anchors in a protected cove within the pristine Biesanz Bay for snorkeling and observing a diverse body of colorful tropical marine life!Return to hotel after fun day on the ocean, followed by group dinner at hotel. Remainder of night free to party.Note: Not uncommon for our hotel to organize DJ Pool Parties during our stay.
DAY 9 - SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25TH, 2023
Today we venture out early as a group to explore world famous, Manuel Antonio National Park! Local guides will spend several hours sharing their knowledge and passion for the many magnificent species that live in the park.Established in 1972, the people of Costa Rica decided to preserve for future generations one of the most beautiful and bio-diverse areas in the country. Although it is Costa Rica’s smallest national park, the stunning beauty and diversity of wildlife in its 683 hectares is truly unmatched!After guided hike through nature preserve, enjoy group lunch at another favorite beach Soda. Remainder of day dedicated to relaxing on the beaches.Return to hotel by late evening for Final Sunset Group Dinner at Barba Rojo Restaurant. The food is good, the drinks are great and the sun setting across the Pacific Ocean is timeless.The town of Manuel Antonio will be bustling with people on their way to Envision and a great night to celebrate!
DAY 10 - SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH, 2023
Wake up at your leisure and enjoy one final breakfast at hotel. After checking out at 10AM, we board our bus one last time, and begin making our way South to the town of Uvita and Envision Festival 2023!Our friend and local driver will say good bye after dropping group off at Envision Festival grounds. With happy hearts and new friends made…enter Envision Festival one day early!

With over a decade of experience leading adventure tours through Central America, Chad is well equipped with all of the skills to make Envision's tour programs a continual success. Chad started co-creating our eco-adventure tours back in 2012 with Stephen Brooks, and continues to stoke out our travel groups year after year.
He has a profound passion for Costa Rica and takes great pride in keeping the vibe positive. When asked what makes the Pre-Tour so special, he replied, “Its all about the fluidity of the trip, amazing people, and going deep into nature and local culture!”
Chad was raised in the South Central coast of California and now resides between Costa Rica and Southern Oregon.
Brooke has grown up on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica for almost 30 years. She has been a member of the Envision community for 9 years, with 3 years of experience guiding the Envision Pre-Tour. Her insight, "Pura Vida" attitude, and community relationship skills make Brook the perfect fit as co-guide to this unique travel experience.
